Towards the end of each year I find myself looking back and being cynical on what (or lack there of) I have accomplished over the past year. I often feel like I have spent the whole year creating nonstop with nothing truly exceptional to show for it. I, like so many others, look for external validation that my art is meaningful. I question if I will ever create something that will go viral or if I am moving forward in my career.
It is moments like this that I rely on those cheesy old-fashioned inspirational quotes to get me through.
"Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn't give you credit."
No matter what I always, always, always put my whole heart and soul into everything I create. I take great pride in doing my best in everything I create.
"Your work is a gift."
I truly believe that I was put on this earth to create beautiful things to make the world a better place. It is my God given talent to share my gift with others.
"Fake it till you make it."
Even when I don't feel like I have anything beautiful to offer I keep going. I want to be the best so I am going to act like the best.
I'll leave you with this holiday gift. My mother sent me a drawing I did when I was 4 years old. I thought it was adorable.
Well I decided that my childhood genius deserved an encore! Not only did I predict 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' but I also decided to draw as many Rudolf's as I please!
Happy holidays to everyone who has taken time to support my art. I have some new an exciting ideas coming for 2016 that I can't wait to share with you!
By the way "Fake it till you make it" is my favorite Steven Tyler quote!
